DECEMBER UPDATE - MERRY XMAS!

Hey! Sorry for the lack of a post last week. However I did use the time to tidy up some stuff on the blog. For instance, for updates like this one I have gone back to the original posts and added a link. That way all appearances of a particular prop are linked and easy to find from which ever post you are on. I’m planning more consolidation like this which should be ready in the new year. In the meantime here is what is likely to be my last post of 2025. Christmas is always a busy time and I don’t know if I’ll be able to fit another one in.

In October I took a look at this wedge shaped console that first appears in The Space Museum. Well, as usual, I missed a Doctor Who appearance.

In my post about the computer from International Electromatic I mentioned a couple of episodes from the third series of sixties sci-fi anthology Out Of The Unknown. Well there is another episode from that series that features one of these computers. The episode is called The Last Lonely Man and the computer can be found in the back of this image. As I mentioned in my post there were a number of variants of this prop. They are all a little different, but one thing they have in common is the rectangular ‘doors’ on the top section.

And finally it’s a return to that TV show that only lasted one season but ended up gifting a ton of props to decades of British telly - UFO. Watching repeats of Top of the Pops the other week I was immediately struck by this performance from comedian Kenny Everett. It features one of the SHADO desks (on the left) and four of the long Moonbase panels (on the right)

And that’s it for this post. I’d like to wish you all a very merry Xmas. Thank you for your support this year and a special thank you to everyone who has suggested props to look at and helped to find examples.
