ONE OF EIGHTEEN

Right! So this time I’m taking on a prop I have been avoiding. It’s one of the flat computer panels that were very popular in the mid Sixties. These were from a prop house called The Trading Post and according to Dalek 63.88 there were Eighteen distinct variants. And that’s part of the reason I have been dodging these. It felt like there were just too many to look for. So, to ease myself in, for this first post on these TTP panels I am going to look for just one. And here it is.

THE DALEKS MASTER PLAN, 1965

Here in this Master Plan pic we can get a good look at our panel. It’s most distinguishing feature being the two triangular arrangements of three dials at the top.
ADAM ADAMANT LIVES!, 1966

It’s partially obscured in this picture. But all the elements on the left hand side line up with the Master Plan panel. The only difference being the very bottom section seems to have been replaced with a plainer panel. The episode is To Set A Deadly Fashion.
THE AVENGERS, 1966

In the same year it appears in The Avengers episode The House That Jack Built. And it seems this is the complete panel as seen in Master Plan.
THE WAR MACHINES, 1967

It’s second Who appearance and it’s the same cut down version as Adam Adamant.
THEY CAME FROM BEYOND SPACE, 1967

And finally, for now, is this Amicus Sci-Fi flick from 1967. Like Adam Adamant it’s only partially seen on screen. But again the elements we can see are enough to match it up.

And that’s all for now. I’ll be back soon. That’s for reading.
